About Us
Our Story
Three generations of roasting mastery, where family tradition meets modern craft.
Three Generations
Our Heritage
From the charcoal pit where our grandfather roasted whole pigs to the kitchen today, CHARROU carries three generations of craft since 1986. The scent of roasting pork and five-spice connects us to our roots even as we look toward the future.
It all began in 1986 on a hilltop, with meats marinated at home and roasted in the open air. It was simple, honest work. Today, the heart of what we do remains the same. We still focus on the char, the spice, and the slow roast, but we have refined the process to make it easier to bring that authentic flavor into your home.

Working Together
Family Craft
In the kitchen, Joey and her father spent hours testing recipes. They sliced meats, tasted sauces, and tweaked ingredients until they felt right. Between tastings, Joey's father would tell stories about how her grandfather did things. He explained why certain spices mattered and shared what worked and what did not. Some days they nailed it, while other days they had to start over.
Those hours together are what CHARROU really is. It is about messy hands, debating flavours, and figuring things out together. Every product carries those conversations and adjustments. It holds the simple truth that good food takes time and the people you trust.

Your Table
Our Purpose
Today, we make our roasted meats and sauces to bring that same feeling to your table. We want to help create the kind of meal where people reach for seconds and conversation happens naturally. We love it when everyone lingers a bit longer than planned.
We want to be part of the moments that matter, like the dinners you truly look forward to hosting. Every bite carries our family's work. It honors what Joey's grandfather started, what Joey and her father built together, and our shared belief that good food is one of the best ways to bring people together.
